Tomato Stain On Granite

Apply this paste to the stain and leave it covered in plastic wrap for 24 hours. We didn t have any plastic wrap but we did have those big plastic freezer bags which seemed to work just as well. You can make this poultice by combining 1 cup of unbleached flour with 3 tablespoons of dish soap. 3 cover the stained area with a plastic wrap. 1 an absorbent material such as bounty or viva paper towels talcum powder or diatomaceous earth and 2 a chemical to remove the stain. Next spray it with water.

Caution must be used when removing this stain from granite so the stone isn t damaged or scratched. Run the cold water for 10 to 15 minutes or until it seems like the water is running clear. Run cold water through the back of the stain as quickly as possible. Tape it down using adhesive tape and let it dry for approximately 24 hours. And we didn t even have to wait til the next morning.

Keep stains off your granite countertops with a few simple precautions. Do not run it through the front of the tomato stain which will only force it more deeply into your clothing. Run stain through cold water. This will force the stain back out through the fabric.

Mix these together and add in a little water until you get a paste. Wipe up the excess spill and wash the stain with a solution of washing soda or detergent not soap and water. To fully remove the red stain you must draw it out of the granite in addition to cleaning it off the surface.
