This floor lamp is made entirely out of aluminum and steel the shade and arms infinitely and smoothly adjustable. The tolomeo s floor support is composed of a weighted steel base with stamped aluminum cover and stem in chromed steel. His tolomeo lamp 1987 designed in collaboration with artemide s r d department head giancarlo fassina was honored with the compasso d oro award in 1989 earning worldwide recognition for its perfect marriage of design and engineering. The tolomeo his iconic lamp series for artemide was created in collaboration with michele de lucchi.

Since 1959 artemide has created a wide array of modern table lamps floor lamps wall sconces and suspensions. The artemide tolomeo reading floor lamp with 9 inch base was designed by michele de lucchi and giancarlo fassina to provide the superb light and directionality of the original tolomeo table lamp but on a larger scale. This floor standing luminaire is great for adjustable direct task incandescent flourescent and led lighting. It features conical shades and a slender aluminum structure that forms a concave shape at the apex which you can adjust in any direction.
